Yellowstone National Park is located in the northwestern United States, and it includes parts of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. The park encompasses an area of 3 million acres (13,000 km2). Yellowstone’s protected areas are home to more than 2,500 species of plants and animals. It provides habitat for many endangered or threatened species including grizzly bears, wolves, bison herds as well as trumpeter swans.
In 2015 a total number of 1.3 million visitors visited Yellowstone national park from all over the world from May to September when the average number was around 1 million per year during this time period.
