When Is The Best Time To Trim Boxwoods

Boxwoods should be trimmed in the fall. If you wait until spring, your boxwoods will have grown too tall and the trimmings may become rotted. Boxwood pruning can also make a nice ornamental shape for hardscaping such as patios or driveways. Boxwood shrubs are susceptible to disease and need plenty of sun exposure during their growing season, so keep them away from windowsills or other areas that do not receive direct sunlight all day long (such as an unshaded porch). Also remember: don’t trim boxwoods evergreen; they rarely grow back if you cut off one of its branches!
