When Is The Best Time To Tap Maple Trees

Forestry professionals know that it’s best to tap maple trees during the first few weeks of January and early February. It doesn’t matter if you’re tapping a three-year-old or an older tree, your goal is the same: empty as many nuts as possible before they sprout. Trees with really big crowns may take longer than those with smaller ones, but eventually they’ll all be tapped by the same time. That way, there are no surprises for either you or your customers!
