You want your body to receive its daily dose of protein as soon as possible and not force it to wait for several hours after you’ve consumed food. It’s like having a cup of coffee: If you wait 2-3 hours after eating before drinking that cup of joe, it doesn’t kick into gear because your stomach has been digesting food for that long.
