When Is The Best Time To Take Oxybutynin

Oxybutynin can be taken at any time in the day, but it is most effective when taken first thing in the morning. This gives you a more restful night’s sleep and a more active day to come. You may also take oxybutynin when you have urinary frequency or urgency symptoms, such as frequent need to urinate during the night. It is not uncommon for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding to require lower doses of oxybutynin that reduce side effects on these patients.

Who shouldn’t take oxybutynin?

Any person with known hypersensitivity to desmopressin can use this medication safely; however, people with severely low sodium levels (hyponatremia) should avoid this drug because of potential sodium retention and hypovolemia (low blood volume). People taking drugs like metoclopramide (Reglan), cisapride (Propulsid), pimozide (Orap), quetiapine fumarate (Seroquel), risperidone extended-release tablets, amitriptyline hydrochloride extended-release capsules (Elavil HCI ), doxepin hydrochloride capsule(s) and meclizine hydrochloride tablet(s) should also avoid using this product because they could result in serotonin syndrome-like reactions if used together with Desmopressin DDAVP® 7–9 units/day Oral Solution USP.
