When Is The Best Time To Take Birth Control Pills


It is recommended to take your birth control pill at the same time every day. The exact times of day you need to take your birth control pill will depend on many factors, including which form of birth control you are using and how long it has been since you last took a pill. This general guideline can be used as a guide:

• If you are taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen®, start by taking one active pill (1 white) with each meal during the first seven days of use; then take two pills (1 yellow) with each meal for the next 21 days; then stop taking them altogether until further notice. Take one active pill (1 white) with each meal for 7 days after stopping this method. Some women may feel nauseous or experience spotting between their periods while using Ortho Tri-Cyclen® so ask your doctor or pharmacist if there is anything else that can help alleviate these side effects.
