You should take a multivitamin once or twice daily, either with breakfast or lunch. If you skip some meals, though, it is best to consume the vitamin before that meal (such as dinner) rather than afterwards (such as lunch). For example: if you’re allowed to eat both dinner and supper after work at 6pm but are still hungry when 6.45pm comes around, then take your multivitamin at 6.45pm so that it will have time to be absorbed by your body over the course of the evening.
