The answer is never.
What I mean by that is if you want to start a business, there are no rules or regulations on when you can do it at all. So don’t think of the “best time to start a business” as something like starting your accounting firm in January instead of December because you want people to remember your name and always ask for help with their taxes after they read about your company making millions from tax deductions. It doesn’t work that way! There is no best time. You could be the next Warren Buffett, Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg tomorrow if you wanted it bad enough…and maybe not even tomorrow if those guys were born before today….but still today! Starting a business based on what others have done seems really silly to me but people do this every day anyway…you just need some good ideas and then go out into the world and make them happen. That’s how it works – whenever YOU feel like doing so – YOUR timing has nothing to do with anyone else so relax!! In fact, one of the most common comments I get from my students who say things like “I have been thinking about launching my own online marketing agency for years now, but haven’t taken any action yet because I am waiting until X date/time/year?…why? Why would someone wait around forever?!?” usually ends up being: “Oh yeah, see above – ‘best time’
