When Is The Best Time To Hunt Coyotes

Although coyotes are primarily nocturnal, there is one time of the year when they may be a little more active. During their breeding season in March and April in most areas, coyotes will take to the field much earlier than normal. As a general rule, it’s best not to hunt this time of year due to the fact that there could be numerous other predators in the area such as bobcats or even wolves if you find yourself in an area where these canines do occur. In southeast Texas however, hunting during any month from October through February is acceptable for coyote hunters because these months allow you access to alligator-hunting grounds that are plentiful throughout southeastern Texas.
