When Is It The Best Time To Hunt Deer

The best time to hunt deer is from early September through mid-October. This period of the year coincides with a peak in the reproductive cycle of whitetail deer, and bucks are particularly receptive to mating. Bucks will often be more wary during this period because they have been exposed to human hunters throughout the summer months, so it’s important for you as an hunter to maintain a low profile while hunting. Maintain a slow pace near trails and water sources where bucks congregate, but avoid making noise or scaring away any visible signs of your presence that could spook them into bolting back into cover. You should still use common sense when approaching areas that may contain other small game such as rabbits or squirrels; if there is not enough prey available within range of your bow shot you won’t see deer come out no matter how quiet you try to remain!
