Peach trees can be pruned between the middle of March and the end of April. Pruning includes cutting off branches, grafting or budding, removing weak limbs, etc. It is best to prune in spring so that the new growth appears soon after planting out. The peach tree will produce flowers if its winter buds are exposed to light when cut back in early spring. If you need your peaches earlier than they are ready for harvest then prune them hard immediately before bud break (28 days after bloom). Otherwise wait until they have finished blooming but before they start dropping their fruit to remove any spurs which could affect future yields or quality!
