Is The Best Time To Get Pregnant When Your Ovulating

If you want to get pregnant, your best time is when you ovulate. When a woman ovulates she releases an egg from her ovaries and it travels through the Fallopian tubes to the uterus (womb). If no sperm fertilizes the egg during this journey than pregnancy doesn’t occur because there aren’t enough nutrients for a growing embryo. If sperm does successfully fertilize an egg then that day represents your fertile window. It gets harder and more difficult after each menstrual cycle as time goes on until it becomes nearly impossible. The ideal days (and times) to get pregnant are: Day 1-6 of your menstrual cycle or 2-5 days before and after those days depending on how long you have been trying IVF/IVFIT cycles. This is what we refer to as Fertility Awareness Method (FAM).

At first glance FAM might seem like one big guessing game, but trust us its not! We have been doing FAM since 1997 at Dr Hoggard’s office in North Vancouver, BC Canada which has been our home town since 2001 where we all grew up together with our families so we know about family life personally! There are many ways of tracking fertility however I will discuss only two methods here – OPKs being used by most people at home and ultrasound scans commonly performed by fertility specialists called sonohystograms which can be very intimidating especially if you haven’t had any prior experience with them..
